The St. Clair County Sheriff Dive Team recovered a crashed drone from the Black River Saturday.

Dive Chief Wayne Brusate said the team was aware the drone had gone down near the Seventh Street Bridge. Port Huron firefighters had to rescue its operator from the river when he tried to retrieve it April 13.

The team was practicing search patterns in near zero visibility in the river near St. Clair County Community College when the drone was located in an empty boat well.

The owner was contacted and arrangements are being made to return the drone, Brusate said.
